About Us

A recent merger between Colonial Manor, Greenfields, Thorofare, and Verga yielded a single, well-trained, robust department – West Deptford Fire Department. Combined our department has over 350 years of experience with emergency services in the township. We have two fire stations prepared for anything that comes our way. Equipped with a fleet of four engines, two aerials, one heavy rescue, and two brush/quick attack units, as well as several command units and three marine units for operations on the river, we are always ready for the next call.

Our township provides diverse and challenging opportunities to first responders thanks to our distinction as a major waterway shipping site, our busy commercial and industrial core, and residential structures of all ages and sizes.

On the roadways, our township covers a large stretch of Interstate Highway 295. West Deptford volunteers typically respond to 200+ accidents, rescues, and vehicle fires along I-295 annually.

Between fires, vehicle extrication, emergency medical services, structural collapse and much more, volunteer opportunities are exciting and vast.

Although we are busy helping the community, the camaraderie and teamwork at our department is unlike anywhere else.
